Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Alex Kelly is a Registered Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Alberta. She is registered with the College of Dietitians of Alberta and a member of the Dietitians of Canada.
Prior to pursuing nutrition, Alex completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Infectious Diseases, also from the University of Alberta. This degree led Alex to explore areas of the world where infectious diseases play a significant role in the survival of people and their communities. It was during a volunteer trip to India where she witnessed first-hand the impact that poverty, and subsequent malnutrition, play in the bodies ability to fight illness and disease. She discovered a direct relationship between how nutrition can affect people’s overall health and quality of life.
This knowledge of immunology and how the human body responds uniquely to the environment and the foods we fuel the body with, compliments her nutrition knowledge, providing her an opportunity to develop client-centred approaches to find solutions for her clients. She provides clients with accurate and evidence based nutrition information to foster healthy, positive, and satisfying relationships with food.
When Alex is not working, she is typically outdoors, staying active. She enjoys running, hiking with her dog, travelling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
